inspirational-beauty-quotes-for-women-12

Inspirational women are everywhere, you don’t have to look too far to find women inspiring others through their passion and enthusiasm for a better life and a better world. There are those close to home like perhaps a friend you admire, a mother or aunt who guides you, maybe you have memories of a grandmother who fought for women’s rights. Then there are those who work hard in our local communities to make our environment safer or provide women in our community with opportunities for a better life. There are actresses, musicians, politicians, journalist, and artists, and then there are women you will probably never hear of who are behind the scenes of our lives fighting for women’s rights. Women fighting for animal rights, the right for children to be safe, women working to stop slavery and child abuse, women who spend their spare time volunteering in women’s shelters, hospitals, and soup kitchens, amazing inspirational women.

You don’t have to be famous to make a difference, it simply gives you a larger audience to inspire, but every bit of individual care and kindness you share can make a difference to someone, even if you are not aware of it!

I chose to share with you the above quote by Audrey Hepburn because for me it encompasses what my blog is about. I started this blog to fulfil my passion for writing, but also to inspire others to follow theirs! I want to give women, mothers, sisters, daughters a voice. I want to encourage us to stand up for what we believe in, to show our children that everyone matters, that no one person is more important than another. And that if we open our hearts and minds we can make a difference, even if just to one person.

Our true beauty lies within, and as beautiful as you might be on the outside if you are cruel and ugly on the inside eventually this is all people will see. Mackenzie Glanville.

Audrey Hepburn is probably remembered most as an actress, and for her beauty, most women and many men remember her wearing that iconic little black dress she wore in the classic 1961 film, ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The truth is there was a lot more to Audrey than her acting career and her amazing beauty. Audrey Hepburn was in fact a great humanitarian, she was appointed the Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF and was presented with several awards including a presidential medal from President George H W Bush.

As a child she had survived the German Occupation during the War and this made her passionate about children’s rights. She dedicated her life to helping children in the poorest nations. She even has a statue in her honour known as “The Spirit of Audrey”, at UNICEF’s headquarters in New York. Her travels to help children were extensive, counties include Somalia, Vietnam, Turkey, Sudan, Guatamala and Venezuela, among many others. She passed away in January 1993 of  Appendiceal Cancer, but her iconic style and inspirational work live on.

There is no denying Audrey Hepburn is extraordinarily beautiful, her face is exquisite, but what makes her even more beautiful is knowing the type of woman she was, she didn’t simply rely on her beauty and her talent to get through life. She worked hard and selflessly to protect children, and I don’t know about you, but to me she is an inspiration. It is women like her that make me want to be a better person.

So today when you look in the mirror remember you are beautiful, that you are capable of amazing things! We can not all travel the world helping others, but we can help those close to us by showing them love and compassion, and by teaching our children, nieces and nephews and friends children to do the same. I can’t do it all, but I can do a little today and a little more tomorrow.

Be kind to yourself, be kind to one another. Be an Inspirational Woman. Mackenzie Glanville.
