“There is nothing sweeter in this sad world than the sound of someone you love calling your name.”

—Kate DiCamillo, The Tale of Despereaux

I remember when Aspen first started to make sounds that I was convinced were her first words. I was so excited, and could not wait until the day arrived when she would call me mummy. As it would happen, all she would say for the longest time was dada!

Parenting is not easy, it is full of tough choices, lots of patience, loss of sleep, and at times severe loss of sanity. Privacy goes out the window, no meal is your own (especially cake),  but it is also the funniest and loveliest thing I have ever experienced. I wouldn’t trade a moment of it, not even to shower in private! But one thing I will never take for granted is that even on my saddest days there is nothing quite as beautiful as my children calling me mum.

My favourite photo from my lovely #mummyshot co-host Catie this week is this gorgeous beach photo below. Catie is on a break this week, it is always nice to have some time being unplugged, and enjoying our families. Enjoy your time Catie.

My  own favourite #mummyshot this week is of my little Adam, for some raeson he thought it is fun to fill his shoes with sand. Love this kid!
