Ok so here we are officially less than a week until the big guy comes down the chimney and leaves us pressies all wrapped up pretty with bows of red and gold! So have you ben naughty or nice? Will there be something special for you under the tree this year? Maybe you better behave extra nice this week just in case! Oh and Santa if you need a hint, a girl always loves a little blue box. And if you don’t know what I’m talking about Santa it’s called Tiffany (wink wink).

Seriously though I would rather world peace, or at lest people to be more tolerant of one another and practice kindness everyday! So if you could sprinkle some magic kindness dust as you shoot across the sky on Christmas Eve that would be awesome!

So with all things Christmassy, (that is a word) going on right now, it is time for me to get a little festive. I have been tagged to do

The Christmas Tag

by two amazing women! The lovely Wendy from Naptime Natter and the beautiful Lucy from Lucy’s Locket! Thank you so much for thinking of me!

OK so here are the questions. Feel free to answer for yourself and play along.

What’s your favourite Christmas movie?

I am not off to a good start, but I really don’t have a fav Christmas Movie.

Have you ever had a White Christmas?

No, but you know that song “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas”? That is me!!!!! It would be so magical!

Where do you usually spend your holiday?

We start at home and then we go to my parents house and have the big family traditional Christmas roast. My mum is really into Christmas (my dad usually wears a scrooge hat as a joke). So my mum cooks way too much food, but it is so yummy, and she plays carols all day. There is always an abundance of gifts for everyone and all the family is there. It is fabulous to see the cousins all together.

This year my parents and my sister will be away visiting one of my brothers so we celebrated last weekend with my family. It actually felt like it was really Christmas!

My mum is always in the kitchen on Christmas.

Cleary it takes an army to stir the gravy, lol. This is my sister and her hubby.

My three with my sister’s boys.

What is your favourite Christmas song?

So many! Maybe I get that from my mum lol. I do love Away in a Manger and Silent Night. But I really love John Lennon’s “Happy Christmas (war Is Over)” and I love Band Aid’s song “Do They Know It’s Christmas” (2014)

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

No we don’t, we wait until Christmas morning.

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Donna, Dancer, Prancer, Commet, Cupid, Blitzen, Rudolph, I know there is more . . .

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?

Sitting and watching the Carols by Candlelight with the children.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Fake.

What’s your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?

Roast Potatoes, and my mum’s custard.

Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?

I totally love both. I know I should say giving, and I would rather give to people than receive, but I must admit I get excited when I get gifts as I love surprises. I don’t like picking my own gifts it takes the excitement away.  I love giving to people I love, especially when I know it is something they will adore!

What is the best Christmas present you have ever received?

My Enid Blighton Books!

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

I dream of going somewhere to see snow on Christmas morning.

Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?

If I have one or two to wrap I am a pro, when it gets to ten and my back starts to ache I am so over it lol.

Most memorable holiday moment?

The Christmas after Adam was born, he wasn’t quite 3 months, and after having both our lives in danger before his birth, it just felt like such a miracle to be alive and have my 3 healthy children home. I remember that year I wrapped gifts and wrote letters to the girls in case I wasn’t there. So to be there for them, and to have this new precious baby boy was so special. We had a very small home then and our lounge room was full of gifts and love.

What made you realise the truth about Santa?

I honestly don’t remember.

What makes the holidays special for you?

It’s the hope, the feeling of magic, believing that miracles can happen.

Merry Christmas form Holly.
