It is so easy to get so wrapped up in our week and so tired from working, cooking, cleaning, acting like a taxi, shopping etc that by the time we have time for our kids or our partner we are just too tired to make the most of it. Even on weekends there is always a party, a function or housework, gardening to catch up on or a lawn to mow! Sometimes a weekend away is just what we need to reconnect with our families and even ourselves. Time spent with our family is worth every second away from the jobs we think ‘can’t wait’.

This weekend we had the chance to have that quality time and it was so worth it! I actually said to my hubby (@photoglanville) that it was one of the most relaxed weekends away I’ve ever had. I think it was partly the fact that the holiday park (BIG4 Anglesea) where we stayed has more of a boutique feel to it than most of the parks we’ve stayed at before. I felt comfortable with the kids outside playing and it wasn’t overly crowded when you wanted to use the facilities. The whole park just has a friendly and intimate feel about it.

Today we enjoyed a day just hanging out at the holiday park. The kids jumped for ages on the jumping pillow, which was followed up by the rest of the morning in the pool! The pool is practically brand new and it is so lovely, (even the chairs are comfy for us parents if we don’t feel like getting wet). There is also an awesome toddler pool for those of you with little ones.

After some lunch on our deck it was time for Adam to play more games of giant chess (yep he is officially obsessed)! Then we discovered the games room and the family battles began!!!!!!! The adults were worn out (let’s just say hubby and I get quite competitive when it comes to table tennis), but the kids still had energy, so go-cart time it was. The kids had a ball and even the big kid couldn’t resist!

Family time isn’t always easy to come by, but it is so important to try and find some time away from work and all the chores of homelife and make time to spend with the most important people in our world.

Tomorrow I will post a little movie that we made of our weekend away. So today I have posted a movie trailer so you can get a glimpse of what we got up to at

Anglesea BIG4!

Check out my other two posts from our weekend away from Friday and Saturday.

Thanks for joining me, love Mackenzie and family xx

Anglesea is on the great Ocean Road and is where the Bush meets the Sea. There is so much to do, not only at BIG4 Holiday Park, but in the surrounding area. There are beautiful walks, yummy local produce and wines to try, Galleries and shops to explore and the Anglesea Golf Course. It is close to Torquay for amazing surf shops, Bells Beach just down the road for world class surfing and Lorne and the 12 Apostles just a drive away. I highly recommend staying at BIG4 for not only there amazing facilities, but for the wonderful staff we met too, it really does make a difference having that personal boutique feel.
