My 11 year old is obsessed by this saying at the moment, She has been working really hard lately so I guess that is why she is wishing for a longer weekend, and who can blame her I’d happily take an extra weekend day too!

This weekend saw the final performance of the school musical Annie in which my daughter Aspen has been a part of. It has been a lot for all the children involved and the adults too. My daughter attends a school which goes from age 5 to age 18, and usually the parts in the musical are reserved for children over 13. This years play being Annie it was open from age 11 up. It is quite a professional play the runs over two weeks and is open to the public. They have rehearsed for months and even went away on a musical school camp. It has meant a lot of very late nights and she has been exhausted. It has also been an amazing experience for her and she has bonded with so many new people. I must say that the older kids in the school are so wonderful the way they look out for the little ones. Aspen performed beautifully we were so proud.

We also had my son Adam’s Taekwondo Championships on Sunday morning, he was super excited (much more than his mother who hates getting out of bed really early on a cold Sunday morning. Although his enthusiasm wore off on me and I happily headed into the city to watch him. It was actually fantastic to see how far he has come over the past 12 months. From the shy little boy afraid to let go of daddy last year, this year he barely waved bye a he headed out on the stadium floor surrounded by hundreds of kids. He came home very happily with his trophy, medal, smile and a lot more confidence.
