“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.”

Fred Rogers

“And so the adventure begins . . . . . .” how adorable is this card and this perfect little baby! This gorgeous #mummyshot was shared by the lovely @treasureeverym.

I recently wrote a post in which I spoke about the tragedies in our world and what we can do to make a difference in these really difficult times. In that post I quoted Fred Rogers and how he spoke about ‘looking for the helpers”.  I also came across the quote above about childhood and I thought it was just such a wonderful quote! In these times when we can sometimes question whether we should even bring a child into the world, and we wonder what sort of world they are going to grow up in, it is so nice to remember just how wonderful childhood really can be. And through play we see them learn, we see them wonder, and embrace new experiences. We watch them explore, and discover, and through watching them we remember all the wonderful things our world truly has to offer.

They are the future, our children, and as parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents, we have to teach them, and gently guide them. We can inspire them to love and care for others, and support them in becoming great people.
