I don’t always say the right things, I get tired, grumpy and sometimes, to be honest I want to find a hiding spot where they can’t find me for 5 minutes, but I learnt long ago there is no such place. But I try to be a great mum, I do my best, and I think most of the time my best is pretty good. My kids are happy, they laugh a lot, plus they are fed on a regular basis. Hugs are endless around here, even when I feel like I am so over being touched and need some personal space, I still open my arms to them. Show me a parent who gets it right all the time, and never gets tired, or frustrated, and I will be pretty sure they will not actually be human.

I am a pretty bad cook, I don’t attend every basketball match, I don’t make them pancakes on the weekend, (but luckily Aspen makes awesome ones), but I am here for my kids, I am a soft place to fall, I take them to school every morning, I play games with them, I give them advice, make them laugh, read stories to them, and tuck them in every night. But what matters more than what physical things I do, or don’t do, is what I say to them, and how I treat them. It saddens me that so many children in our world are neglected and abused, I wish I could rescue them all and tell them they are smart, beautiful, magical, and worthy of love. I can’t do that, but I can raise my own children to be people who believe in themselves, and believe in their ability to treat others with compassion and kindness. And one day when they are adults I hope they will open their hearts to help others.

Speak to your children as if they are the wisest, kindest, most beautiful and magical humans on earth, for what they believe is what they will become.

There are many ways we can help children who are less fortunate than our own. By either volunteering our time, or giving to a worthy cause you can make a difference, and be a great example to the young people who look up to us.

Check out your local area for shelters, hospitals, or centres that need volunteers, or donations.

there are so many more, just google them. You can make a difference!

Speaking of precious children it is now time for this weeks mummy shot roundup, these children are certainly very precious!
