On Sunday I managed to pull a tendon in my knee, the pain was instantaneous, and as I tried to stand up I realised very quickly that I couldn’t bare any weight on it. I thought it would pass in a few minutes, but no. I have to say I am honestly shocked at how painful my knee has continued to be all week. Admittedly I am being a little naughty, but it is really hard to not do things that need doing. The other day I pushed myself way too hard and ended up in tears. I am having treatment though, so I’ll get there. On top of that I have had children home everyday this week, one or another has been sick, Aspen is on her third day off today. Now of course Steve has caught it too and is completely miserable. Oh and the new TV we ordered arrived so smashed that it doesn’t even work. So our week hasn’t gone quite as planned, as life tends to follow its own path at times.

But then on the flip side, there has been some great things this week too! Our gorgeous portrait (by Lifeworks Photography), we had taken of our children was ready to be picked up, and I absolutely love it! It looks amazing up on the wall.

I love this photo of Aspen

We also had our new sofa delivered and finished painting our family room. Having the kids home, meant extra cuddles on the sofa, having some lazy time with them was really lovely. Today was also Steve’s and my 15th wedding anniversary, and even though my hubby was feeling awful he still went to work, and stopped at one of my favourite shops  in Melbourne to bring home a gorgeous desert for me. My friends have also been a great support this week and it reminds me of how truly blessed I am.

So yes as I write this I am actually in a lot of pain, and I have barely slept this week, but I am also really happy. It would be so easy to write off this week as a bad week, but when I stop and count all the little blessings I realise that I have so much to be grateful for. Sometimes it really is how we choose to look at things. If we choose to focus on the negatives we will continue to live in a negative world, but if we choose to see the great things that happened to us this week then we will live in a world full of possibilities and happiness.
