“only a child sees things with perfect clarity, because it hasn’t developed all those filters which prevent us from seeing things that we don’t expect to see.”

…… Douglas Adams

As a mum to 3 children I love photographing them, most of the time they love having their photos taken, although Adam is not as keen at the moment! Aspen usually doesn’t mind, and April loves being in front of the camera. All children are unique and beautiful, and that is what Mummy Shot loves celebrating. Mummy Shot is an Instagram community that myself, and Catie from diaryofanimperfectmum host together. It is all about photographing our children without having to share their faces, it showcases how we can capture an emotion, or tell a story through photography, without needing a front on photograph of their beautiful faces.

Each week I will be showcasing my favourite photographs that people have shared through Instagram using the hashtag #mummyshot. Catie will be doing the same. If you would like to join in all you have to do is share your Instgarm photos with #mummyshot, and you could find yourself featured Just like these parents below have been!

What is not to love about these gorgeous photographs! Let me introduce you to the photographers of these gorgeous pics!

TopLeft is by @mrs_hs_fav_things. What is not to adore about these tiny little toes!

TopRight is by @thetwodarlings. I just adore the soft colours in this image, and of course all those cute feet!

BottomLeft is by the_adventures_of_beta_mummy there was something about the way these two have their heads together that evokes a sense of emotion and sibling bonds, that I just adore.

BottomRight is by myprettymummy  I love how this photograph captures a child having fun despite imperfect weather. The clouds just add to the mood and beauty of his image. There is nothing as gorgeous as a child enjoying nature.

I will also be choosing my favourite photograph of Catie’s each week, and one of my own.  It has been 2 weeks since we started #mummyshot, but this week is my first doing the round up, you can see Catie’s round up from week 1 HERE. But this photograph of Catie’s has been my absolute favourite so far. The winter trees, the street lamps, and the gorgeous architecture of the buildings just looks like a movie set to me. I love how her boys are up ahead leading the way, just gorgeous!

My favourite photograph I featured this week was of Aspen, April and April’s two friends watching the ferry go by on the Yarra River in Melbourne. We took them to see the movie ‘Sing’ this week, followed by a high tea with more friends. It was a lovely Summertime day.
