The sand beneath my feet is white and squeaky, my children are smiling, they are wild and free, and I can taste the freshly picked strawberries in my mouth.
I sometimes wish more days could be so simple. Would we appreciate them as much if every day was like this? I’d like to think I could. We hear things like we need to feel heartbreak to appreciate love, or we need to know sadness to feel grateful for happiness? Is that true? Or do we just believe it because it makes the hard times easier to take?
I am not sure. All I know is days like this make me happy.
What do you believe?

We always dream about winning the lottery and being able to spend each day together and travel the world, but I always say would we appreciate our time together as much if we had it all the time?! Oh and those strawberries look amazing! #pointandshoot
Your pics and your words make me long for summer, and lazy sunny days when I don’y have to force my kids off their screens. Simple days also make me happy.

That looks like the perfect day to me and as always your beautiful words compliment these gorgeous images perfectly too. Thank you for linking up to #PointShoot 📸
I don’t think we NEED the bad times to appreciate the good, but the latter may shine brighter in contrast?
Lovely photos, can’t wait for some proper sunshine… #ablogginggoodtime
I think we do appreciate the better days more because of the bad ones. I agree with Malin. Lovely thought provoking post x
For sure, we appreciate the beauty of those “perfect” days because of all the less-than-perfect in our lives, and I wonder, too, if the hard days grow us into a gratitude that makes us more able to say thanks and launches us into the maturity to realize how fleeting everything is — even the bad.
It definitely makes things easier to think that way. #ablogginggoodtime
I am pretty sure I could be happy living on a cruise ship. Life is full of ups and downs. I do think they help shape us and keep us real! #ablogginggoodtime
It’s so grey and rainy in the U.K. at the moment I know I appreciate the sunny, warmer weather! I think you are right that maybe, we do appreciate the better days when we have harder ones. I hope you are enjoying those strawberries. #ablogginggoodtime
Such evocative words. It’s amazing how wonderful just being present and enjoying the world around you can be. It’s the small things that can be the most joyous and peaceful. #ablogginggoodtime
Something to think about. I often think about how much I appreciate a warm, sunny day, and wonder if I would appreciate it as much if it wasn’t so wet and dreary in Scotland most of the time! #ablogginggoodtime
