Today is all about Wellness and finding some balance for yourself in a busy world. This post is simply about relaxing and feeling a sense of peace. Ideally read this post in a quiet environment. Find a few minutes to yourself. It can be first thing in the morning, on a break at work, or right before bed.

If you have the luxury of time then allow yourself to unwind. Take a warm bath or shower, or listen to some soothing music. Curl up with a warm tea, or stretch yourself. Remember that this post is about relaxing, and carving out a little time for you.

Find a comfortable position, you can be sitting, or lying down. Move yourself around until you feel you are in a relaxed position.

Now I want you to place your hands on your stomach. Take in a deep breath. You want to breathe right down into your stomach area, so you should feel your tummy rise. If you are chest breathing you cannot relax fully, so keep trying to slow your breath, deepen it until you feel your hands rising on your stomach.

Take 3 deep breaths. As you breath in imagine breathing in peace, lightness and a sense of warmth. Perhaps a glow.

As you breath out, imagine breathing away any tension. You don’t have to name that tension, just breathe it out and breathe in the light.

After you have had your 3 deep breaths, you can relax your hands in your lap, or gently beside you. Keep breathing, not as deeply, just slow and steady, relaxed, comfortable.

Imagine now a peaceful place. Imagine how it feels, is it warm? Perhaps a gentle breeze. Allow yourself to feel whatever it is you feel, there is no right feeling. Imagine what it looks like there. Is there water? Trees? And imagine the sounds. Close your eyes now and just take a minute to imagine this peaceful, welcoming place.

           . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I am now going to share with you some peaceful images. I want you to take a moment to look through each one. Just enjoy them, you don’t have to think about what they are about, just feel the beauty and peace from these images.

What image stood out the most to you? I want you to take a moment now and close your eyes, thinking about the image you chose. Imagine yourself there. Feeling warm, and loved. Feeling nurtured and supported. Close your eyes and breathe. Relax, just be.

Place your hands back upon your stomach. Take 5 deep breaths. Breathing in the lightness, feel yourself all floaty and relaxed. There is nothing to do in this moment except just be.

Take your time. If you need to you can do this exercise again. Keep it with you and do it any time you feel tense. This is your time, this is for you. Love and nurture yourself. Wish good things for yourself and for those who are in your life. Breathe, really breath. Relax, let in the light, feel the glow. Love. Be here in this moment. What can you hear? Bring yourself into this very moment. What can you smell? This is life. Life is wonderful.

Click to tweet: Live every moment, cherish every breath you take. Life is worth living.
