Seven years ago I found out I had a son, seven years ago I fell completely in love with him. When I was pregnant with my 3rd baby I wondered if I would be a mum of 3 daughters, or a mum to 2 girls, and 1 boy. It didn’t matter to me, I was so in love with this life that was moving and growing inside of my own body. I would spend time dreaming of what our 3rd child would look like, and wish beyond anything that he or she would be born safely. My pregnancy was very high risk, I had an unusual heart condition and had been told my life and my baby’s life were fragile. I was so afraid I would not be here to raise my beautiful daughters, to give them advice, and hugs, to share the most important moments in their lives and all those precious in between moments.
When I saw my husband looking at our newborn that day I knew I had a son, I felt so overwhelmed with peace that he was alive and so was I. We made it, we were safe. Then they brought him to me and I saw for the first time that I had an amazing son, the baby I was already in love with was finally here, I have never felt more at peace than I did in that moment.
On my son’s birthday we also met our new family member for the first time! After falling in love with this little one on line from a fabulous breeder who lived in another state. (This photo is taken from an email I was sent, so it is off my computer screen).
We couldn’t resist making her part of our family!
Welcome Heidi
She flew in and stole our hearts. She is only 10 weeks old and is a little nippy, but oh my gosh what a gorgeous girl she is! She has made herself quite at home too, and we are so thrilled to have her here with us! Here she is after pulling my throw blanket halfway off my chair to make herself more comfortable.
