Have you ever considered what makes you YOU? Or what things around your home best represent or reflect who you are? Perhaps there is a room in your home that you feel most at home in, or a favourite item of clothing that is totally ‘you’? Do you friends always say that when they see that ‘certain something’ they think of you straight away?
There are things that we are naturally drawn too, things that show who we are, or what we like to surround ourselves with. For me that is something I missed whilst staying with family before our home was ready to move into. I blogged at the time about how as beautiful the house we were staying in was, yet I didn’t feel at home because the things in it were not ‘me’.
It is important that we fill our homes with things we love, our own sense of style, and things that reflect our personality. We are all unique and that needs to be celebrated! Our clothing and our home are great ways of showing who we are. You know that feeling when you go out wearing something that does not ‘feel like you’ and you spend the entire time feeling uncomfortable or lacking confidence? Well that same feeling applies to living in a space that doesn’t reflect your uniqueness. You are never going to feel truly relaxed at home if you don’t style it to your own taste.

Styling to the beat of my own drum is something I am passionate about, and if you are familiar with my blog then you will be very aware of this. I like to surround myself with things that make me happy, relaxed and things that make me feel I have “come home” when I walk through the door.
So this month two lovely bloggers asked us to make a Vlog (a video blog), that shows 10 things that make me ME!
So I grabbed my phone and started filming some of the things in my home that I feel best represent me! Items that best reflect who I am. To be honest I didn’t actually keep track of how many items I named, (oops sorry), I just started filming with no preplanning, it tends to be my style when I Vlog I just go with the flow, a bit like when I blog too, I just start writing and end up rambling on and on!
Anyway I hope you enjoy the Vlog and learn a little bit more about me in the process.

We’ve not long moved and our home is nothing like a reflection of us at all yet.. its very clean and white lol but Ive been moaning at the husband to get our pictures up and come light shopping with me (all still not done) so we can start to put or stamp on it. I think it is so important that your home is a home (if you know what I mean) and we’ll get there – eventually! 😉 Nice Vlog by the way, Im loving that everyone is starting to vlog 🙂 #stayclassymama
I think the longer we leave it the harder it can be, just start with getting together some ideas and work from there. If we wait for our husbands it never happens lol
We’ve been in our house 7 years and it’s still a magnolia box with zero pictures/personal touches. Maybe I’ll try harder with the decorating in the next house.

it is not all about decorating it is just about adding in some things that make you feel good, even flowers make huge difference!
We had a milestone moment last week as we finally got some pictures put up in our living room and now it feels like home…we moved in a year aho! I look around at the moment and mostly I see plastic beakers and nappies. I do hope that’s not a reflection of me, but in a way I don’t mind – it’s very much where I am at the moment! Great vlog too – I am still too scared to do that! #stayclassymama

We moved a year ago from a house, into an apartment. A frugal necessity unfortunately. We are down to 900 square feet which I manage better than the Mrs.! But what made our place a home, our home, was the addition of our new puppy, Gatsby. He made us all feel better about things! #FabFridayPost #stayclassy #mg
so true adding a puppy to our home made us feel more like a family, and made it so homely. We come home and Holly-Rose is always there waiting so excited!

no I edited through photoshop. I have used iMovie before it’s good. Don’t worry I love dogs just as much as cats!

glad it helps, you can actually do most things pretty cheaply now which is great. A lot of the cheaper stores are doing great copies of the more expensive design stores so you can get some awesome stuff so much cheaper.
Hi Mackenzie, your vlog got me thinking about what makes me, me. I’m really not sure. I would say that having animals is a big part of who I am, at the moment we have five dogs and two cats and I can’t imagine life without them. My camera and my blog also play big parts in my life…. I think others may say that having a quirky sense of humour is what makes me, me

Trust me my home is quite small, but I had to have room for my desk, I love it. I love that you have so many animals you sound like me!
We have been in our new home almost a year. It still needs work in feeling like me but I wouldn’t move in until it was completely decorated in bold wallpaper. My bedroom has birds, butterflies and pink and blue flowers it screams me #fartglitter
My mum has done this really well. Her whole house is full of nice touches which shows who she is. Unfortunately as we are so transient at the moment I can’t say the same. When you’re moving in on with suitcases alone every few years a lot of trinkets don’t make the cut. A few bit from IKEA brightens up our homes cheaply and make it feel more homely though.
