I am feeling pretty miserable right now, I really have come crashing back down from my gorgeous holiday , I feel completely swamped with all the mess of moving and to top it off hubby has been sick all week! I feel like I am living in chaos and I don’t cope well with chaos. There is so much to do and yet time is disappearing and then I find myself procrastinating, staring at all there is to do and just wanting to leave the house or go back to bed and hide. It already doesn’t feel like my home. You know that feeling when you get home from holidays and it feels so good to be home? But this time it felt strange walking back into our house, since it sold it just hasn’t felt like our home anymore. I really feel like we are living in limbo.

But that is enough self pity for one day! Today I have decided to look at what I am grateful for right now, because the truth is I have so much more to be grateful for than I do to complain about! It is so easy to be sucked into feeling sorry for ourselves, but we need to stop when we feel ourselves spiralling down and remember that it is so important to give thanks for all the great things in our lives.

grateful-heart

I know right now I am feeling overwhelmed, but I am grateful that we are entering this new chapter, I have no doubt that we are making the right decision for our family, that every step I take right now is one in the right direction. Every step I take, every box I pack is one step closer to our dream of starting a new life closer to our friends, living in the place that already feels like our home. For that I am grateful. I am grateful for decluttering our life, for this opportunity to let go of things we no longer need and make room for new opportunities and experiences. Today I took some beautiful toys that my children have outgrown and gave them to our local kindergarten, the children faces lit up, they were so thankful for these beautiful new toys, it felt good to give to people who need these things more than we do.

I am grateful for the new friends I made in this community and I know I will continue to carry those new friendships forward. I am grateful for the years I got to live in this dream home, for the views and for the love and happiness we created whilst here.

It is so important in  times of chaos to remember what we are thankful for, being thankful puts things into perspective, it makes us look at what we have and forget our worries, it brings us peace, understanding, acceptance and clarity. The more grateful you are, the more happiness you will attract into your life.
