Loving is complicated. Being loved is complicated. With it comes so many emotions, feelings of elation, the purest joy, reassurance that you are not alone, a warmth inside you, a glow that starts in your toes and reaches your eyes, but love can also bring fear of loss, questions like ‘what if it goes away’, ‘what if my heart gets broken‘? Yet we risk it all, we give our hearts fully because giving love, and being loved is the best feeling in the world! There is a very famous part of a much longer poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson;

“I hold it true, whate’er befall;
I feel it when I sorrow most;
‘Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.”

I believe that when we lose someone so precious, we never stop loving, love is so vibrant, so full of light and colour, and that energy can never leave our heart. There are so many moments in grief that we feel utterly torn apart, broken, confused, guilty, we question everything, we hurt so badly, we ask why, but we are left with no good answer, because it isn’t fair and it hurts. I can only speak for me and from my own personal experience with loss and grief in saying that no matter the pain I am in, I still would have given my heart fully because loving that person was everything, and I wouldn’t give that up for all the stars in the sky.

Last week we had a post linked up that touched me deeply and I can not speak for anyone else, but I am sure anyone who read this post would have been deeply touched also. I actually could not read it all at once as my tears left me unable to see the lines. I have chosen this post as my featured post, it is titled “Complicated Emotions : Loving my Rainbow Baby.” It was written by the beautiful Louise from the blog Little Hearts, Big Love. Louise’s post is as she has titled it, full of complicated emotion. A post written by a grieving mother of 3, and her feelings of grief and yet such love. I know all our hearts go out to Louise and her family, and I cannot begin to imagine how hard it was to write this post! Louise you are so brave, kind and stronger than you know, we are all sending you such love, and hugs from all over the globe. I know your post with resonate with and help many grieving families. Bless you.
