Today I had one of those profound moments of gratitude for my life. Life is fragile, we get on with everyday life, we are busy, we are on a mission to tick everything off our to do list, we sometimes forget just how fragile life is. Last week I lost my cousin at just 45, we often hear of people having their life snatched away too young, and when we do it makes us stop just for a moment and we realise how precious and fragile life is, how easily it can be snatched away from us. We have the promise of youth, we are supposed to live until we are really old, no one should die young.

I am blessed at the moment to be on a family vacation, I spent yesterday at the most beautiful beach with my hubby and 3 children. We were even treated to a show of dolphins playing right beside us in the water, a truly miraculous moment. I spent along time swimming in the ocean with Aspen whilst Steve, April and Adam built sandcastles and forts by the shore. After a long swim I sat on the sand with a good book and relaxed whilst Steve played with the kids. I suddenly had a thought, I started thinking how fragile life is. There was a time during my last pregnancy that I was told my life was at risk, that I was standing on the edge of life. I was scared that I may not be around to see my girls grow up, I was scared that if my baby survived the pregnancy that I may not be here to raise him/her either. It was very confronting. So yesterday on the beach I put my book down and went to join my children and husband making a big sandy mess. We laughed, we played, and I have never been more grateful for life than in that moment.Β Sometimes we need to stop, we need to forget about our to do lists, we need to just cherish a moment and be thankful for the gifts in our lives.
