It’s been a busy few months, in reality being a parent means it is always busy, chaotic and a little nuts! But add in selling a house, moving house and moving in temporarily to my parents house (whilst new house gets built) it has been pretty full on. But I am super excited today as my family and I have been invited to stay at the beach for the entire weekend at the BIG4 Holiday Park in Anglesea! Anglesea is on the Great Ocean Road and is the gateway to the most scenic drives in Victoria, probably the entire country!
We started the day by taking the kids to school, Steve (my hubby) had the day off work so we got time to hang out together child free (a very rare occurrence). After picking the kids up and a run in with Kevin Sheedy (former Essendon Football Club Coach) I was feeling star struck and a little jealous when Aspen told me she and her class mates had just spent the last hour with him! We headed happily down the highway to Anglesea BIG4, the kids were amazing in the car which is always a treat!
At reception we met Sue, she has got to be the nicest person I have ever come across when checking in anywhere! Being a local she told us all the best spots to check out during our stay. We have stayed in Anglesea before and never seen these places so we were very excited.
Our 3 bedroom Cabin is lovely, all brand new and I must say it was an extra bonus to find Lasagne and salads waiting for us in the fridge, so all we have to do is reheat it for dinner. This is a service they offer for Friday nights,(as who wants to be cooking after driving up the coast after work). It was prepared by the Anglesea Cafe’ and I can smell it reheating as I type this, I can’t wait to taste (I will let you know tomorrow).
The kids were super excited to get vouchers for ice-cream and go-carts!
So much fun playing Giant Chess!
Awesome playground! Great to see the giant sandpit at the bottom, makes a soft landing if they fall too.
There is also a camp kitchen and really lovely camp bathrooms for those staying in tents and caravans.
Time to head to one of those secret beaches that Sue told us about.
The locals know the best spot for a surf after work!
So much fun already in one afternoon. Tomorrow we plan to have a swim in the indoor pool and do more exploring of the local area. Oh and Adam has already challenged me to a game of giant chess.
The kids are sitting at the table tucking into the Lasagne and salad so I am off to join them, yum.
Thanks for joining me, love a relaxed Mackenzie xx

This looks like a great park that I’ve never been to , even though my wife and I do trips along the surf coast in our caravan. I really like the heated indoor pool as I love early morning swims. I’ll put this down for our next trip hopefully early December .
Gorgeous!
