I woke up this morning and honestly felt like I had found my own slice of Heaven. The sun was rising across the bay and the water sparkled like crystals dancing on the ocean just for us. In the distance across the bay sits the beautiful Freycinet National ParkAt my doorstep is a private beach and I have to pinch myself to believe that this is real. As I headed out onto our private balcony of our chaletI said to hubby that this is truly one of the best places we have ever stayed, and believe me we have stayed in amazing places. There is just something special about this place, an essence that is hard to capture with words or even images. You know that feeling when you discover something special? When you realise that you were meant to be here, and you feel exhilarated and yet at peace all at once? That’s how I feel being here.

So where is this slice of magic? In Swansea, a gorgeous beachside village on the east coast of the beautiful state of Tasmania. And this amazing accommodation is Swansea Beach ChaletsThe chalets sit right on the sheltered beachfront offering uninterrupted views of the beach right across the bay to the beautiful National Park that features the amazing Oyster Bay. If you want to experience the true heart of Tasmanian hospitality (and believe me you do), then Swansea is the town for you! This place is rich in history and character and is just stunning. The owners are so beautiful, welcoming and happy to share their local knowledge and recommend the perfect places to visit, eat and find great wine.

Swansea not only offers beautiful swimming beaches, but also great fishing, boat activities and walks. It is also at the heart of many fabulous places to visit and is only 2 hours drive from Hobart and Launceston and 3 hours from Davenport. It is close to the seaside town of Bicheno and  a short drive the magical Coles Bay which you need to put on your Bucket List!

Freycinet National Park. Aspen, April and Adam loved it!

The fabulous Devils Corner Winery is only 15 minutes down the road too. They not only have amazing world class wine, but they have the best lookout it is architecturally amazing! They also have coffee to die for and amazing meals of fresh seafood and gourmet pizza.

But it is not just the location, the amazing views and the friendly staff that make Swansea Beach Chalets magical, it is all the small, yet important details that are not missed that have made our stay here extra special. There is the facilities like the solar heated pool which my 6 year old couldn’t get out of, and the playground. There is the BBQ facilities (even though the kitchens are fully equipped it is sometimes nice to have a BBQ), and I was very happy to find laundry facilities as we had some washing that needed doing (read my previous post about Adam and his chocolate bath). Then there is the accommodation itself which would be perfect even without the views. The chalets have everything you could want, they are new, clean, spacious and comfortable. I loved opening the draw in the bathroom and seeing the beautiful way the products were laid out (it is a small touch that makes you feel that little more pampered and reminded me of the 5 star Hotels I’ve stayed at in Melbourne, without the hefty price). The beds were really comfortable and the shower was a great size for showering myself and my 6 year old at the same time.

The drive to the Freycient National Park is around 45 minutes and is a must! The beaches and views literally took our breath away.

There are so many beautiful walks and the views out to the mountains and the famous Wine Glass Bay are again something that you should place on your Bucket List. If you love amazing beaches with crystal clear water and white sand then you will love this National Park. You can choose challenging walking tracks through to wheelchair friendly walking tracks, it really is one of those experiences you will remember of life.

Swansea really is a beautiful seaside village, I really think that is should be on everyones must see list when visiting Tasmania, if you do stay here make sure you stop in at the bakery too, hubby stopped there after his morning run and came home with croissants and glazed fruit buns with coffee for breakfast, I can tell you now there is nothing better than freshly baked pastries for breakfast whilst sitting on your private balcony watching the sunrise over the ocean! I couldn’t recommend or praise Swansea Beach Chalets enough.

I think ultimately the most special thing about our stay here is the view, when you come and stay (and I hope you do), you will know exactly what I mean.

Thanks for joining me, love Mackenzie xx
